The coronavirus epidemic is changing people’s habits, including the way individuals dress. In conditions of self-isolation, people get used to comfortable and cozy outfits. However, it is possible that after the removal of restrictive measures many people will want to wear their best elegant dresses, suits, jackets, or other parts of fashion details that were waiting in everyone’s wardrobes during quarantine time.
Homestyle does not contradict stylish trends and was popular before the virus spread. However, because of quarantine people who usually would prefer to wear something outré and fashionable might start thinking about pajamas and comfortable clothes more seriously.
The fashion Instagram influencer Elisabeth Savetsky is a good example of how the pandemic virus changed the fashion influencer’s accounts. If before she would post pictures in elegant stunning outfits now in quarantine times, she began to prefer more comfortable and simple clothes. In her conversation with the news website, The Verge Savetsky said, “I’ve been posting on Instagram for about seven years now, and so it’s nice to almost have this challenge that’s forcing me outside the box because we all tend to get into these habits of doing the same thing over and over again, shooting on the same street corner always, and we can’t do that anymore.”

Even some online clothes stores used the quarantine as a chance to promote comfortable and cozy looks by putting them on the main page of the web site. Some brands name their new collections as “Virtual Party Hits” or “At home, Gym Fit” to appeal more attention for that collection.

Obviously, online stores became more popular during coronavirus time because now every person has much more free time, and searching for new outfits helps people not to be so depressed and prepare themselves mentally for a time after the quarantine. “I find myself shopping more, looking at clothes more, and that’s mainly due to the downtime. I wouldn’t normally have this much time,” said Eric Gehman, 25, who works in risk reporting at a bank in Elkton, Md. and is now working remotely (The Wall Street Journal). However, many people are also concerned about catching the virus along with their new packages.
During quarantine time people also got a lot of time to think about some serious problems we have in our world. This issue is about ecology and how society misuses natural resources. Due to this time for thinking some people came to the conclusion of conscious consumption. This might become a key factor when choosing clothes.
Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra shared his opinion about it on HindustanTimes. He said, “… During the lockdown, people are learning the importance of resources and must learn to use them more wisely. This shall initiate an inclination towards garments that have more longevity and creative and emotional value; so to speak, the consumer may learn the relevance of mindful, slow fashion goods created with authentic craft techniques by humans and not machines.”
It is also possible that already existing organic clothing brands such as Thought, Pact, Shift to Nature, or Kowtow will become more popular because of COVID-19.

Of course, forced quarantine pause had a big impact on the global economy in total. The fashion industry plays an important role in its development, for example, many fashion houses that do not sell online will leave the market, small brands will also not withstand the blow, despite the uninterrupted attempts of online service and the implementation of promotional offers. Probably only the most persistent and flexible brands and companies will remain.
It is possible that the mask might become a trendy accessory because for now every person needs a mask to go outside and some people try to be creative with it. Although it is possible that after the end of quarantine, many will want to quickly forget about them.
